More than 2,800 jobs created in 2009 through SBDC activities

The South-West Texas Border Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network 2009 Annual Report details the significant role played by SBDCs and their clients in strengthening the Texas economy.

SBDC activity is particularly significant during a difficult economic climate — SBDC clients continue to be more successful than the average Texas business, evidenced by higher rates of sales growth, job creation and the generation of state and federal taxes.

2009 SBDC Activity Highlights Each year, the SBDC Network contracts with an independent firm to measure and benchmark its results. For every dollar invested in the South-West Texas Border SBDC, a return of $6.65 is generated.*
